- Plan a menu and stick to it! There’s nothing worse than getting overwhelmed as hostess. Plan your menu even before you invite your guest and stay with the plan.
- Realize your strengths and weaknesses – We are all talented at certain things and not so much with others. As for me, I can bake a delicious cake but I can promise it’s not going to be so pretty. I realize that I am just not a cake decorator. If I’m serving cake, I’ll order one from a reputable bakery and serve it. There’s nothing wrong with that at all. It all helps me on time and work.
- Do not try a new recipe the day of a dinner party! If you’re considering a new dish, give it a try before your event to make sure it turns out as you intend.
