- 1 loaf Egg Bread Challah
- 1 Egg
- 1 c Half & Half
- 1/8 tsp Vanilla
- Pinch of Salt
- Dash of Cinnamon optional
- Pure Maple Syrup
- Powdered Sugar optional
Preparing the French Toast
In a mixing bowl; beat one egg then add one cup of half and half and mix to combine. Next, add the vanilla extract and cinnamon and combine into a custard mixture.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Heat a skillet over medium. Add a pat of butter and allow it to melt.
Soak each slice of bread in the custard mixture on each side allowing it to absorb the custard mixture. Transfer the soaked bread slice to the skillet and cook until browned on each side, about 3 minutes per side. Transfer the toasted slices to a baking sheet.
Place the French toast into the oven and bake 5-8 minutes to ensure doneness of the custard.
Serve with maple syrup, if desired.
