Barbecue Party Peanuts Appetizer

- 2/3 c Water
- 2 tbs Liquid Smoke
- 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 3 tbs Barbecue Sauce divided
- 1 lb Salted Roasted Peanuts
- 2 tbs Butter melted
- 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Ground Cayenne Pepper or Creole Seasoning
- Pinch of Salt
Combine the water, liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, and 1 tablespoon of barbecue sauce in a sauce pan; bring to a simmer.
Remove the sauce pan from the heat and add the peanuts, stir to coat, allow to stand for 30 minutes.
Drain off the liquid and spread on a parchment lined baking sheet.
Bake in a 250°F oven for 1 hour.
Add the roasted nuts to a mixing bowl.
Combine melted butter with the remaining barbecue sauce then add it to the mixing bowl and toss to combine with the nuts.
Season with garlic powder, a pinch of salt and cayenne (or Creole seasoning) then toss to combine.
Spread the nuts on a paper towel lined baking sheet to drain. Let stand about 15 minutes then transfer to a serving dish.
