Cheddar Cheese Grits Breakfast Bowls

Delicious Southern style cheese grits with cooked eggs, bacon or sausage.

Ingredients

  • 8 Cooked Bacon Slices could use sausage patties or country ham if preferred
  • 4 Fried Eggs or cooked as preferred
  • 4 c Cooked Grits I used the Luquire Carolina Creole brand for this recipe - prepared according to package directions
  • 1 c Cheddar Cheese freshly grated

Instructions

  • Prepare the grits according to directions by combining water, salt, heavy cream, grits and butter together in a sauce pan; bring to a boil then cover and reduce heat to simmer, stirring occasionally.
  • While the grits cook, prepare eggs and breakfast meats according to preference.
  • Remove the grits from the heat and stir in the grated cheddar, continue to stir until the cheese is melted.
  • Serve the cheese grits in bowls topped with eggs and breakfast meat.
