Stir Fry Sauce
- 1/3 cup of Soy Sauce
- 4 Cloves of Minced Garlic
- 1 teaspoon of Garlic Paste)
Egg Roll Mixture
- 2 tsp Toasted Sesame Oil
- 1 lb Ground Mild Italian Sausage breakfast sausage or plain ground pork would work fine too
- 1 Small to Medium Head of Green Cabbage sliced
- 2 Large Carrots peeled and sliced
- 1 Onion diced (optional)
- Cracked Black Pepper to taste
- Top with fresh scallions if desired
Prepare the stir fry sauce until ready to use by mixing all of the ingredients together. This can be made the night before and refrigerated or make an hour in advance to allow flavors to mingle.
Begin by heating a large skillet over medium heat. Add the toasted sesame oil and ground pork sausage. Breaking the pork apart, cook until browned. About half way through cooking the ground pork sausage, go ahead and add the carrots.
Next, add the sliced cabbage to the pork sausage mixture and season with black pepper. Sometimes I use an onion in this recipe and sometimes I don't. If you're using diced onion, go ahead and add that in too. Stir fry until the cabbage reaches your desired level of tenderness. This only takes a few minutes.
Finally, add the stir fry sauce you made before cooking. Stir to incorporate all of the ingredients with the sauce and cook an additional two minutes. Garnish with fresh chopped scallions if desired. Serve hot.
