Ground Beef Casserole

A delicious family meal of cheesy ground beef and pasta casserole

Ingredients

  • 1.5 - 2 lbs Ground Beef
  • 1 Onion diced
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Ground Chili Powder
  • 1.5 tsp Ground Garlic Powder
  • 10.5 oz Condensed Cheddar Cheese Soup such as Campbell's
  • 16 oz Elbow Macaroni
  • 2/3 c Whole Milk
  • 8 oz Shredded Cheese I used a cheddar/jack mix

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F
  • Start by browning the ground beef in a skillet with the diced onion. Season with salt, pepper, chili powder and garlic powder. 
  • While the ground beef mixture is cooking, cook the pasta. Add 4 quarts of water to a pot with half a teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil, add the elbow macaroni and cook for 10 minutes. Drain well.
  • Next add the condensed cheddar cheese soup to the hamburger mixture. Add milk and stir to combine. Next, add the cooked macaroni pasta and stir to combine everything.
  • Lastly, layer the mixture in a casserole dish and add some of the shredded cheese between layers, topping with the remaining cheese. Bake for 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
