Nanny's Old Fashioned Blackberries and Biscuits Recipe
A childhood favorite breakfast with sweetened stewed summer blackberries served over warm homemade buttermilk biscuits.

- 12 oz. or 2 cups Fresh Blackberries
- 1/2 c Granulated Sugar
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 1/2 c Water
- 2 tsp Cornstarch
- 1/2 tbsp. Butter
- Fresh Buttermilk Biscuits
To begin, add the blackberries to a sauce pan.
Next, add the sugar to the berries along with the lemon juice.
Add the cornstarch to the water and whisk to combine and add to the blackberry mixture. Heat over medium heat and bring to a simmer. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes until it thickens.
Add the butter during the last 2 minutes of cooking and stir until melted to incorporate. Serve blackberries and sauce spooned over fresh baked biscuits.
