In this post we’ll review the Top 10 Recipes of 2017.
Looking back each year at the Top 10 Recipes of the Year is always a lot of fun. I get to see those that really caught your attention. Sometimes I’m surprised by a few of them but the numbers don’t lie, so we’re about to count them down to number one.
Before we get started with the top 10 recipes of 2017, I would like to take a moment to say “Thank You“. I appreciate y’all stopping by to visit, and your continued support. We’ve grown quite a bit this year on Facebook and started a new group where we can all share together.
We started our free newsletter so we can stay in touch, ensuring you don’t miss new recipes. It’s been a great year for sure! We have another exciting change coming soon, so y’all stay tuned for the big announcement. Okay, here we go, counting them down……your favorites for 2017.
Top 10 Recipes of 2017
10. Pineapple Casserole
This is the recipe that I almost forgot about! I was thrilled when I saw it at a restaurant this past summer and knew I had to share it with all of you (and to remind myself so I don’t forget about it again). You’ll find this dish at gatherings and it’s a delicious blending of some ingredients you might not expect.
9. Seafood Pasta Salad
There are many of you who enjoy seafood as much as I do, making this seafood pasta salad next in our countdown. Look at all those delicious bits of lobster, crab and shrimp.
8. Southern Fried Chicken Livers
There is either a you love it or hate it relationship with chicken livers for most people. Pass the gravy y’all cause I love them!
7. Pork Tenders
Move over chicken and let the pork in the house! This is a kid friendly dish the whole family will enjoy.
6. Milk Boiled Corn
Add a rich and delicious sweetness to corn on the cob with this indulgent cooking method. You’ll never boil corn in plain ‘ole water again.
5. Oven Baked BBQ Pork Chops
Oven baked BBQ pork chops are a no frills but tasty meal. Perfect for busy families.
4. Cucumber Salad
A fresh and crisp old fashioned Southern favorite.
3. Southern Skillet Fried Apples
Never dare call this dish a dessert. No. Absolutely. No. It is and always will be a side dish. A little scoop of ice cream wouldn’t hurt though 😉
2. Chicken and Dressing Casserole
Comfort food at it’s best!
1. Creamed Chipped Beef & Toast (S.O.S)
I could have never guessed this would be the recipe that went viral this year but it did. I became the chipped beef queen of 2017 because so many love this dish. HaHa! This dish originated in our nation’s military. So many of you took time to share your fond memories of this dish. A recipe so simple but it has touched so many lives.
There you have it, the reader’s favorites of 2017. Thank you so much for being a part of my year!

Julia, I love the new look of the blog. I have been cooking Chicken Livers wrong (and gross) for 50 yrs.....gonna give your recipe a try. I found your blog several months ago looking for SOS like my Daddy used to cook in the Army in the 1950's (he was a cook when he first joined.) I loved it.
