Easy Cream Mushroom Sauce

 

Easy Cream Mushroom Sauce is so delicious and so easy to prepare. Use it to top beef or chicken. You’ll feel like you’re eating in a restaurant with this sauce!

Like many of you, I enjoy a delicious short cut recipe and this is just that. With a few simple ingredients you can create a semi-homemade sauce that is restaurant quality in taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 pt Crimini Mushrooms (baby bellas), stems removed
  • 1/2 c Water
  • 1 tbs Butter
  • 1/3 c Heavy Cream
  • 1 can Campbell’s French Onion Soup
  • Cracked Black Pepper, to taste 
  • Pinch Cayenne Pepper

Easy Cream Mushroom Sauce

Cut the mushrooms into chunks and add them to a medium sauce pan. Then add the French Onion Soup, butter and water.
 
 
How to make an easy mushroom sauce
 
Bring to a simmer over medium heat and reduce liquid amount by half.
 
Once the liquid amount has reduced, add the heavy cream, cracked black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne.
 
Continue to simmer until sauce begins to thicken.

Easy Creamy Mushroom Sauce Recipe

An easy semi homemade mushroom sauce that taste just like the restaurants make. It's perfect with beef or chicken.

Prep Time 10 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pint Crimini Mushrooms (baby bellas), stems removed
  • 1/2 c Water
  • 1 tbsp. Butter
  • 1/3 c Heavy Cream
  • 1 can Campbell's French Onion Soup
  • Cracked Black Pepper, to taste 
  • Pinch Cayenne Pepper

Instructions

  1. Prepare the mushrooms by wiping away any dirt with a wet cloth and removing the stems. Next, cut the mushrooms into large chunks.
  2. Next, add the mushrooms along with the water, French onion soup, and butter to a pot.
  3. Bring to a simmer over medium heat and cook until the liquid has reduced by half.
  4. Next, add the heavy cream, black pepper, and a pinch of cayenne pepper to the other ingredients and continue to simmer until the sauce thickens.
