In this post I’m sharing an easy Tomato Mozzarella Salad (Caprese) recipe.

This easy caprese salad is a fresh and delicious side dish made with fresh Roma tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, fresh fragrant basil leaves that can be garnished with a beautiful balsamic glaze or tangy vinegar.

Tomato mozzarella salad is a great make ahead dish that can be refrigerated until ready to serve. Serve with delicious Kalamata olives. Reserve the balsamic glaze or vinegar until serving.

Caprese salad is a great accompaniment to you Italian dinner night.

Tomato Basil and Mozzarella Salad

The freshest ingredients work best in this salad recipe. Roma tomatoes are my first choice but cherry tomatoes would also work beautifully.

Take care to select fresh basil leaves for this salad for a beautiful presentation. If you prefer to slice the basil be sure to roll the leaves and slice chiffonade style, otherwise the leaves will turn brown. Basil is a bit particular in that way.

Buying mozzarella pre-sliced makes this super easy to put together and it takes just minutes to have this salad complete.

Balsamic glaze reduction finishes this salad with a wonderful rich sweet flavor. Those who prefer a more tangy taste, use balsamic vinegar.

There are many ways to serve, prepare and enjoy this tomato mozzarella salad. Caprese skewers make fun tasty appetizers.  Some enjoy the caprese on a sandwich.

If you enjoy fresh flavor then you’ll love this simple side dish recipe.
