Halloween Bark Candy Recipe

Trick or Treat? Let’s go with a treat! Halloween Bark Candy is a sweet and salty fun to prepare treat.

Bark candies are so easy to prepare. You’ve likely made one at some point or at least seen them. There’s not much to it really, just melting some good ole chocolate and getting creative with your toppings.

Bark candy can be customized to suit any holiday or occasion depending on your choice of adornments.

Halloween bark is also a fun activity you can do with the little ones in your life.

With so many choices today in fun sprinkles, the tough part will just be deciding what to use.

Here’s what I used: Candiquik (just like Almond Bark), Reese’s Pieces (cause they come in Halloween colors), fall sprinkles, peanuts and a few candy eyes.

Halloween bark makes a great gift or serve it up at your spooky gathering!

Halloween Treats

Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble.

Okay, there’s no cauldron required to make this Halloween Bark. Depending on where I am shopping I typically find that they stock Almond Bark or Candiquik. I ended up with Candiquik, which is nice because it comes in a handy tray that you just pop in the microwave.

In less than a minute and a half you’ve got your melted chocolate and all you have left to do is decorate as your heart desires. No matter which chocolate base you end up with, be sure to check out the directions for melting.

After you’ve melted your chocolate base, pour it out onto a parchment lined cookie sheet. Use a spatula to spread it out into about a quarter inch layer.

Next, after you’ve spread the chocolate into a fairly even layer, it’s time to decorate. The fun part!

I do recommend using a mix of sweets and a salty like peanuts or broken pretzel sticks. That gives a nice balance and interest to the Halloween chocolate bark.

Is it just me or does that little guy look like he’s sticking his tongue out at me?  🙄

After you’ve added all of your toppings, gently give a little press to make sure it’s secured into the chocolate so it stays in place once it is set up.

Refrigerate the Halloween bark for one hour or until set, then break into pieces.

Serve as treats, at your holiday gatherings or bag for gifts. Don’t forget to try a piece yourself!

Ingredients

  • 16 oz Vanilla Candiquik Almond Bark works fine too
  • Fall/Halloween Sprinkles
  • Candy Eyes
  • Salted Peanuts
  • Reece’s Pieces

Instructions

  • Line a small sheet pan with parchment paper. I find it easier to crinkle the parchment before placing on the pan to keep it in place so it doesn’t curl up on you.
  • Next, melt the Candiquik. The Candiquik comes in a microwavable tray. Just pop it in the microwave for a minute then give it a stir. Microwave another 20 seconds if needed and stir until smooth. If using Almond Bark, follow the package directions for melting.
  • Pour the melted Candiquik onto your parchment lined baking sheet and use a spatula to spread into a thin layer, about 1/4" thick.
  • Decorate with your choice of toppings then gently press the topping to hold in place.
Next, chill the bark in the refrigerator until set.
