Basic Alfredo Sauce Recipe

In this post I’ll be sharing a Basic Alfredo Sauce Recipe.

Alfredo sauce is one of the most popular white creamy cheesy sauces for pasta meals. It’s a favorite for kids too. Who can blame them? Rich cream and tangy Parmesan cheese is bound to make something all sorts of delicious.

There are a few pasta meals that I truly love dressed in alfredo sauce. Chicken penne with artichoke is one of them. I also love blackened shrimp with broccoli and fettucine in alfredo sauce. It’s so delicious!

I’m making myself hungry just talking about it.

Ingredients:
1 stick Butter
1 c Heavy Cream 
2 c grated Parmesan Cheese, freshly grated works best
1 tsp Garlic, minced (optional)
Pinch Salt
Fresh Grated Black Pepper


Heat the butter and heavy cream until the butter is melted over medium low heat. Once simmering add the freshly grated Parmesan cheese and stir until melted and creamy.

Season your alfredo sauce with salt and pepper. If using garlic then add the garlic to the butter cream portion while heating.

This is a cream sauce so stir constantly to prevent scorching.

Serve over your favorite pasta meal.

Yield: 1.5 cup of sauce

Total Time 20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 stick Butter

  • 1 tsp Garlic, minced (optional)
  • Pinch Salt
  • Fresh Grated Black Pepper

Instructions

    1. Heat butter and cream until butter is melted over medium low heat. Once simmering add the cheese and stir until melted and creamy. Season with salt and pepper. If using garlic add the garlic to the butter cream portion while heating.
    2. Stir constantly until thickened.
