Southern Grape Jelly Meatball Appetizers
Classic southern meatballs, or grape jelly meatballs as they’re better known, are a favorite at gatherings. You may have had these and not even realized what the sauce is made from.
It’s one of the easiest appetizers you can make. They are delicious and your guest will be going back for more! Be sure to make plenty because they disappear faster than you could imagine.
Everyone’s face seems to light up when they see a serving crock or platter with these amazing meatball appetizers.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs Frozen Meatballs
- 12 oz Chili Sauce
- 18 oz Grape Jelly (or jam)
- 2 tbs Dijon Mustard (optional)

These tasty meatballs can be kept in a warm serving crock or placed on a platter as needed for your guests.

Southern Grape Jelly Meatball Appetizers
Ingredients
- 2 lbs Frozen Meatballs
- 12 oz Chili Sauce
- 18 oz Grape Jelly or jam
- 2 tbs Dijon Mustard optional
Instructions
- Add the meatballs to a crock pot and top with chili sauce and grape jelly.
- Set on the high heat stetting.
- Stir occasionally.
- Cook on high for 3 hours and serve with appetizer forks or party picks.

Can you cook these in a pot He stove etc, then put them in the crock pot?
You could do that but I would probably place the meatballs on a bake sheet and put them in the oven to cook then combine everything in the crock pot. That might make all of the meatballs easier to deal with rather than having to keep stirring them around.
Oh my goodness, I LOVE meatballs and grape jelly! Wish I could eat it right off the screen.
I don’t have a crock pot. How long would I cook them stove top? Which frozen meatballs do you recommend?

Any basic frozen meatball would work for the recipe. If you’re cooking it on the stove top, heat over a medium low setting and stir occasionally until hot and bubbly and it shouldn’t take more than an hour, maybe less. I hope this helps.
