In this post I am sharing how to make a delicious side dish of Easy Crock Pot Creamed Corn.
Y’all, I had every intention of getting this recipe posted before Thanksgiving. I’ve been busier than a one legged cat in a sand box. I think you get the idea.
Anyways…I am happy to be sharing it before Christmas arrives and it will be here before you know it. This year has just flown right by!
This creamed corn recipe is a tad different from the classic recipe you may know. Both versions are truly delicious and I recommend trying them both.
This extra creamy recipe is a bit of an indulgence. That’s okay in moderation though, right?!? Of course it is!
While this is a great side dish anytime of the year, we tend to be a bit “extra” during the holiday season and that makes this corn perfect for your holiday dinner table.
The Best Slow Cooker Creamed Corn
Making this delicious, rich and creamy corn in your slow cooker will free up space on the stove, you could just as easily prepare it on the stove top.
This year we had two Thanksgiving dinners to attend. One was the weekend before Thanksgiving and the other was on Thanksgiving at our house.
We usually host holiday meals and I love it. It’s about the only time I get to enjoy having folks over for dinner.
Well, I prepared this creamed corn to share at both dinners and it was a hit. I even had a couple of folks ask for the recipe. It was a real treat to have this corn for these special meals.
I only make it occasionally otherwise. As I mentioned, it is a tad indulgent.
Creamed Corn with Cream Cheese

What goes with creamed corn? Anything that you like really. This creamed corn is a great holiday side dish but can be served alongside any meal where you might enjoy corn.
How do you thicken creamed corn? Classic creamed corn uses a slurry mixture to thicken up the corn. This recipe uses a combination of cream cheese, heavy cream and butter.
Creamed Corn without Sugar
I think that it is worth mentioning that I do not add any sugar to this recipe. Many folks do. That’s fine and all if that is your preference. As I see it…sweet corn is already sweet enough and it is just not necessary.
Crockpot Corn
I use a combination of mostly frozen sweet cut corn along with one can of creamed style corn in this recipe.
How to Make Slow Cooker Creamed Corn
Preparing this recipe is as easy as combining all of your ingredients in the slow cooker and letting it cook on the low setting a couple of hours.
The same method goes for preparing it on the stove top. If preparing it on the stove top then be sure to heat it over a medium low heat setting and stir often to prevent scorching. Just until hot and bubbly.
