Tuna Noodle Salad Recipe

 

In this post I’ll be sharing a tasty Tuna Noodle Salad Recipe.

Y’all, this is such an easy recipe. Perfect for a luncheon, potluck, or an easy dinner. I remember as a child my mother making Tuna Noodle Casserole and I wanted nothing to do with it, even though I liked all the ingredients.

It’s funny how we change and our taste for foods change. There are quite a few things that I love now that I didn’t care for growling up.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Chunk Light Tuna (in water), drained well
  • 16 oz Cooked Elbow Macaroni 
  • 1 to 1 1/4 c Mayonnaise
  • 6 tsp Dill Pickle Cubes
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
  • pinch of Dried Thyme, crushed between your fingers
  • 1 tbs Dried Parsley, fresh is good too

Old Fashioned Macaroni Salad with Tuna

Empty tuna into a mesh strainer and drain well.
 
Cook Pasta. Bring water to a boil, add some salt to water then add pasta and boil for 10 minutes.
 
While pasta cooks, in a medium mixing bowl add mayonnaise, pickles, lemon juice, and seasonings and combine.
 
Add drained tuna to wet mixture and combine.

When the cooking time is done for the pasta, drain well. Add pasta to tuna wet mixture and combine.
 
I like the tuna noodle salad once it’s chilled in the refrigerator but it’s good warm too.

Easy Macaroni Salad

Optional: add diced onions or diced red pepper to suit your taste.

Tuna Noodle Salad Recipe

Old fashioned tuna macaroni salad, just like mama made it, is a delicious easy lunch or simple supper.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. Chunk Light Tuna in water, drained well

Instructions

  • Begin by emptying the tuna into a mesh strainer and drain well.
  • Next, cook the pasta. Bring water to a boil, add some salt to water then add the pasta and boil for 10 minutes.
  • While the pasta cooks, prepare the dressing mixture. In a medium mixing bowl add mayonnaise, pickles, lemon juice, and seasonings and combine.
  • Add the drained tuna to wet mixture and combine.
  • Finally, drain the cooked pasta and add it to tuna wet mixture and combine. May be served warm or chilled.
