Stuffed Celery Appetizer
This simple cold appetizer recipe fuses flavors of the holiday season with the addition of cranberry and pecan.
When serving stuffed celery as an appetizer, I like to place the pieces on a platter and garnish with fresh cut rosemary from the garden, a couple of pecan halves and fresh cranberries.
I typically have pecans and cranberries in the freezer so that is what is simple for me to work with. You could use whatever you like for garnishments or just keep it plain and simple.
Stuffed Celery Recipe
The savory cream cheese chicken filling is so delicious and easy to prepare.
Here’s what you’ll need: canned chicken, cream cheese (regular or low fat), dried cranberries, pecans and a little black pepper.
Just combine all of the ingredients together and you are ready to go with filling your cut celery slices.
A dash of paprika on top of each stuffed celery appetizer is a nice finishing touch but optional.
Chicken Stuffed Celery Appetizers
I like to transfer filling mixtures into a plastic food storage bag and snip the corner to fill, whatever it is, that I’m filling. It makes the filling part so quick and easy.
Since the cream cheese chicken filling is on the thick side you’ll want to snip the corner of the bag so you have an opening about the size of a quarter.
If the bag method is too much trouble for you then just use a knife or spoon to fill each celery bite.
You’ll get around two dozen celery appetizers from this recipe. I try to keep the celery pieces as uniform in size as possible so I went through nearly two bunches making the recipe.
Below you’ll find a printable recipe card with all of the ingredient details and steps to make your own delicious chicken stuffed celery appetizers.
