Start by placing a large skillet over medium heat. Once the skillet is hot, add the diced pancetta (or bacon if using) and sauté so that it releases its fat and becomes crispy.

We’re gonna use those flavorful dripping to sauté the rest of the ingredients to impart wonderful flavor into this tasty vegetable side dish.

Once the pancetta is crispy, use a slotted spoon to remove it from the pan and transfer it to a dish and set is aside to add back to our green beans later.

You’ll want to have around a tablespoon of rendered fat. If you find yourself with more than that then use a spoon to remove some and discard.

The next step is to add the diced onion and corn kernels to the skillet. Take this time to also scrape those tasty bits that stuck to the bottom of the pan and allow them to mingle with everything else.

Allow the onions and corn to sauté just a couple of minutes of the onions begin to become translucent.

It’s time to add the star of the show…the Italian green beans. Add them to the skillet along with the seasonings.

Give everything a stir to combine and sauté for about five minutes or so until the green beans are nice and hot.

Lastly, add the reserved crispy pancetta back to the skillet along with the diced tomatoes and saute for one more minute.

Then remove from the heat and transfer the Italian Green Beans with onion, corn, garlic, pancetta and tomatoes to a serving dish.

Sprinkle a little bit of parley over everything to make it look a bit more special, if you like.
